Dear Friends of The Spayed Club (TSC),

​

Meet Lola, a beautiful tortoise color 3-year-old kitty, the “Star” of the 2025 The SpayedClub (TSC) Medical Appeal. It was in March when Lola came to TSC. She had been diagnosed with pyometra. Pyometra is an infected uterus which occurs in female cats and dogs who are not spayed. The uterus becomes filled with pus. This is very serious and is fatal if not treated promptly.

Lola’s family was not able to afford the cost of this life saving surgery at their local veterinarian. Fortunately they found TSC. Thanks to our generous donors like you, TSC’s expert surgeon, Dr. Sarah Alexander, was able to provide Lola’s surgery at a price which the family could afford.

 

Lola was able to return home to her family, healthy and happy. Lola is only one of the many animals which TSC helps on a daily basis. TSC performs over 4500 cat and dog spay or neuter procedures every year at very low cost. TSC annually sees more than 3000 animals in our Medical Veterinary Clinic for both preventive care and treatment. In 2025, TSC is aggressively supporting “boots on the ground” by providing additional funding to TSC volunteer cat trappers who bring in community cats both friendly and feral. Owned animals are returned to owners. Friendly cats and kittens are taken into partner rescues and placed for adoption. Feral cats are returned to colonies if they are safe and have a caretaker to feed them.

 

We thank you for your generous donations in the past. One hundred percent of funds donated to the 2025 Medical Appeal campaign will go directly to support animals like

Lola. Once again, we ask you to dig deep, and help TSC move closer to our mission of no more euthanasia of healthy pets in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Community Counts!

TSC is proud to be working with a young grass-roots organization “Delco Loves Animals” who have done a great job organizing a much needed monthly pet food pantry. The pantry supports owned cats and dogs in lower socioeconomic areas surrounding TSC clinic and feral cat trappers. At each monthly Pet Food Pantry event, TSC provides education to the public about the importance of spay/neuter for your pet and signs up animals for their spay or neuter procedure. In addition to providing pet food and litter, TSC received a generous grant through Greater Good Charities to distribute FrontLine flea/tick prevention products donated by Boehringer-Ingelheim/BI Cares at the Pet Pantry. The Pet Pantry has made a huge difference in supporting animals to stay in their homes.
